In a city and a neighborhood desperate for affordable housing, nonprofits and city agencies are going up against other buyers, hoping to purchase property that can be maintained as or turned in to affordable housing. In one recent deal, affordability won out.
This show also includes an update on the Mission and 22nd street building that suffered a major fire in January, which happens to be embroiled in the same kind of bidding process. We'll have a look at what's going on there as well as the latest from the tenants who were displaced from the building.
