Great music has been trickling down to me here and there from San Jose and the surrounding areas, and if the supporting cast of Jeff Rosenstock's (a Long Islander, himself) recent release "We Cool?" is an indicator, I may have to make an expedition to find the source of this quirky pop punk fountain that's bubbling, gurgling and contributing to to excellent albums and artists like Mr Rosenstock, including my aforementioned faves of 2014, Hard Girls.

"Nausea" starts off like Ben Folds on a NyQ.uil bender. Loose, hairy melodies blurted over a piano with minimal help from the rhythm section start to coalesce, though: Anthemic gang vocals get tightened-up with some soul clapping, foot stomps, and jangley guitar. Pretty soon some horns kick in, a choir picks up where the gang vocals left off, and you forget where this enjoyable mess even began.

Jeff Rosenstock's video for "Nausea" is more of a NyQuil fever dream than the song. Confetti projectile vomiting, knife play, and the taco transubstantiation of Jeff Rosenstock make for a video worthy of its namesake.
