The Mountain Goats' 16th studio album, "Goths," is neither a goth record, nor a record about being goth, but a complex and beautiful album about looking back on the intensity and passions of your youth with the perspective of adulthood, and assessing how to integrate those feelings into who you are now. Please excuse my throaty voice -- I had a pretty bad cold -- and my mistake in referencing the title of John Darnielle's now-defunct blog about his metal fandom, "Last Plane to Jakarta" (not "Last Train...").
