Bitch Talk w/Directors Jim Lebrecht & Nicole Newnham from Crip Camp

In this episode, we’re taking you back to Sundance with an interview with director Nicole Newnham and co-director/talent James Lebrecht from the documentary Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution. This film chronicles a Woodstock-esque summer camp for disabled kids that becomes a foundation for the disability rights movement. We discuss James’ experience as both subject and director of the film, and the pros and cons of having too much archival footage to choose from. This film was released under the banner of Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, and we were happy to have a conversation about this community that is still fighting for equal rights to this day.

You can watch Crip Camp on Netflix NOW.
