Before they broke up, the Beatles shot hundreds of hours of both audio and video footage for what was ostensibly going to be a new album and their first live performance in 3 years.
They chose Peter Jackson to edit this footage. Yup, the guy who made the Lord of the Rings Trilogy 11 hours long, so he really edited the hell out of this one to get it down to 8 hours of Beatles content (mostly shots of tea and toast if I'm honest.)
