Update on Oakland's planned 6.7% allowable rent increases from last week: City Councilperson Carroll Fife has scheduled a vote "to make the annual allowable rent increase Oakland landlords can levy on tenants to be 60% of the percentage increase of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), or 3% max, whichever is lower, instead of the 100% of CPI that is currently the case in Oakland."
