Hi, it's good to see you. I hope this post finds you well and rested, and if not, that you are taking the time to rest and recuperate. Living currently feels like a struggle, and I'm writing this from a very vulnerable place for those who feel the same. I'm really at a loss for words. Anytime I try to think about what we are living through: heavy surveillance, massive ICE raids, plain censorship, and unhindered racism, I feel like crying. I can't classify the amount of emotions I feel.
Most days, it's anger, fear, and sadness. Really just a solemness I haven't ever felt to this degree. I'm learning that time continues, life continues, everyone continues. To me, that's the scariest thing, plain guilt, life just moves. You still have to work, function, produce work, find time to have fun, be social, and present yourself in a way that isn't crumbling.
But what I have noticed is that among it all, one thing I haven't done is isolate. I've found and have made time to feel among friends, both old and new. January rejuvenated my spirit and left me feeling hopeful.
And that's something I'm really grateful for. As I continue through February, I want to encourage that momentum. Not just for myself but also for everyone. Find that spirit, hold on to it, and nurture it. Regift it, share it, cherish it because it's more important than you think.
I want to continue reflecting, staying present, and most of all living!
Hold on to loved ones, eat happy meals, bike around, give back, say hi to your neighbors, and if you need to, log out from socials for a bit.
I hope and feel lots of love for the world and know that while all these external factors feel stacked against us, we will be okay!
For now, that's all the words I can find for this.
Please take care of yourself and keep that spirit alive. <33
