Invasion
of a different Ilk
Breaking up
persuasive monotone drones
broken locks like spilt milk.
Broken windows like policing.
casing the joint.
memorizing the ins and outs of their would be victims
As its ripped apart and thrown on the floor
Their memories. The very illusion of safety.
What does it take, to make a home not a home.
picking up after your leftovers,
scrap by scrap,
drawer by drawer,
methodically ripping through their psyche.
All in service
of the almighty
dollar.
