The inspiration for the proceeding "Peculiar Collaborations" list derives from the recent release of Sting and Shaggy’s new album 44/876.... what we were supposed to do, not comment on Sting and Shaggy joining forces?? This is the best unlikely partnership since Oprah and John Tesh!

You can’t knock an unusual pairing until you try it. Like the phenomenon of dipping French fries in a Wendy’s Frosty, or wearing a tiara with combat boots, or doing yoga in the middle of a WWE match.  Embarking upon the weirder path less travelled is where art most unpredictably and most powerfully generates. Now, not to say all of the gems on this list are magnum opus caliber- but even the kitschy for kitschy’s sake and the comically entertaining creations (e.g. Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton), still resonate with the value of discovering new inspiration and harmonizing with different perspectives.

We’ll leave it up to you whether the following collaborations hit the mark or not- dope melodies are in the ear of the beholder. Even if the aftertaste or the harmony doesn’t quite hit the spot, exploration and weirdness is better than playing it boringly safe.

Enjoy!
