Hey Cats and Kittens, babies and brawlers, FOXX's listing of my best five (5) albums of 2014 (in the splinter of my mind's eye) that is...These are in no particular order.

1. Fortress // Fortress
Choice cut - HOT SINGU

San Francisco's own Fortress laid out it's double fisted barrel of rock in their self entitled debut album.  Fun, fast, furious and fun (again).  They've seen the attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, fought the goblin hordes at the keep of the borderlands and lived to rock the tale!

2. Body Count // Manslaughter
Choice cut - TALK SHIT, GET SHOT

Does Ice-T and his metal band need a blurb?  Fuck no they don't!  Get your ass to Mars if you think they do.  Listen and get righteous murder in your eyes.

3. 1-800-Band // Diver Blue EP
Choice cut - DIVER BLUE

Holy Crap, why aren't these guys huge fucking stars yet.  Sure it's an EP, but it packs more 80's punk pop calories that haven't been seen since the Descendants or the College Post Punk musings of the Plimsouls!  Ahhh, my beer is getting flat because I need to play this over and over again.  Aw fuck it, shotgun the next beer and nurse the one in your hand motherfucker.

4. Lushes // What Am I Doing?
Choice cut - DEAD GIRLS

Only in America could Brooklyn's Lushes exist without being arrested.  Unless you take into account that they could exist elsewhere.  A duo of high intensity weirdness and galactic sludge one day, a visceral love for all sentient beings the next.  That's Lushes on What Am I doing?  That's it man.  Now give me a tissue.

5. Chappo // Celebrate EP
Choice cut - I'M NOT READY

It's rare for a spaceship to leave the planet and actually make it to another galaxy.  It makes no sense to put all of this work into building the damn thing and having it sit idle on the pad.  The energy babies, the energy!  Chappo is a lightshow of warpspeed, cocaine addled jangly fun.  Drink wine spodiodi and just dance.  Dance until the cops take you away and then make the cops dance!
