Don't call it a comeback, man. These ladies have been here for years...

A decade passed without a new album, but the three women of Sleater-Kinney were anything but quiet: drummer Janet Weiss banged shit out for the Jicks, Quasi, and Wild Flag; Carrie Brownstein also lent her voice and guitar to Wild Flag and showed us her comedy chops in Portlandia; and Corin Tucker continued to make killer tunes in her own Corin Tucker Band.

But none of these were the powerhouse of Sleater-Kinney.

And then - seemingly out of nowhere - Sub Pop re-releases the Sleater-Kinney catalog with a surprise in the box set: a NEW recording!!!

Next the floodgates opened: The new record "No Cities to Love". A tour. And killer live TV performances proving that these three are still at the top of their rock n' roll game.

"No Cities to Love" picks up where "The Woods" left off: All-killer, no-filler excellence and evolution. There are new guitar tones and effects at play over high-energy rock tunes like 'Surface Envy'. 'No Anthems' is as punishing of a tune as they've ever delivered. The vocals overall sound stronger than ever. This powerful trio is firing on all cylinders as they always have.

Corin's harmonies, Janet's bashing, and Carrie's windmills and kicks give me chills in this Letterman footage for 'A New Wave':
