We’re looking for quality DJs who are excited about discovering new underground music and sharing it with the world. If you're a huge music nerd who's dying to share the good stuff that you can't hear on commercial radio, we want to hear from you. If you’re especially into our local music ecene all the better!

BFF.fm has made it vital to our mission that we create a supportive environment for all people, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and other differences. Read how we pledge to do so.

Not sure if BFF.fm is right for you? A great way to find out is to listen! We also recommend starting by perusing our charts to see what kinds of music gets played the most.

Most time slots on BFF.fm are weekly, 1 or 2 hours. We do not currently offer monthly shows.

All time slots 8am - midnight broadcast live from our Studio A in The Secret Alley, one block from 16th & Mission BART. Right now all of our live in-studio time slots are filled, but people are always coming and going!

We are also looking for prerecorded/remote broadcast shows for overnights and early mornings Mondays or Tuesdays - 1-2am, Mondays or Fridays 4-6am, and Mondays - Fridays 2-4am. These shows may be recorded at our Studio B at The Secret Alley or at home, depending on your technical capabilities.

Since word has gotten out about BFF.fm, our schedule has remained consistently packed with great programming. We wish we could take everyone!

Here are a few things you can do to make your application stand out:

  • Check our schedule to see how our time slots are set up and choose either a few time slots or a range of times you might be available to DJ. (example: "I'm available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 2-8pm")
  • Have a solid show concept (genre, show title, DJ name, etc.) and/or include examples of the types of bands you’d like to play.
  • Know a current BFF.fm DJ? Let us know!

Right now we're especially looking for

  • Shows with a focus on local music, particularly inviting local bands in to the studio for interviews/sessions.
  • music or culture related talk shows (You're a journalist or other type of professional/enthusiast who can demonstrate a unique and solid format and/or ability to book regular guests.)

Sorry, but at this time we're not looking for

  • syndicated shows aka shows that are already broadcast elsewhere (we like our programming all original)

If we think you’d be a good fit, we’ll get in touch as soon as we can!
