The San Francisco Music Hall of Fame is a Bay Area museum known to music aficionados, local as well as tourists. For the uninitiated, what is it?
The San Francisco Music Hall of Fame shares photos, audio and memorabilia. Iconic Bay Area rock, pop, folk and hip-hop performers are spotlighted. The collection is diverse, featuring sounds from many eras. Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana, E-40, Stevie Nicks and Creedence Clearwater Revival are among those recognized for their contributions to the San Francisco music scene.
The San Francisco music hall gallery opened on May 8, 2021. The ceremony was streamed live.
In addition to the photos and exhibits, the San Francisco Music Hall of Fame features a brick walk. The placed bricks honor 300 Bay Area musicians who have shaped SF music history. An overview of the brick walk is available online.
The San Francisco Music Hall of Fame is located at 1353 Bush Street in San Francisco. Audio tours are available as part of the experience and may be listened to on your smartphone.
