It's been a buffeting, stormy start to the year here in BFF.fm's home of San Francisco, but as we regather ourselves from holiday breaks, new years toasts, and a little flash flooding, we took a moment as we always do: to celebrate the year that's past, and all the incredible sounds we experienced in 2022.
Once again, music director Nick has run the numbers and compiled the exhaustive BFF.fm Top 100 of 2022 chart, with the Isle of Wight's sensational Wet Leg topping after the viral success of Chaise Lounge and the excellent self-titled debut album that followed.
This year we also debut a new chart: The BFF.fm Top 30 Local Bands of 2022 — highlighting San Francisco Bay Area artists who rocked the station last year, on our mission to highlight the local scene.
As is tradition, our DJs and volunteers took a little time to compile their personal favourites and highlights, in a fresh series of Top 5 blog posts. Check out these eclectic sets: discover something you missed, share the passion for the things you loved, and maybe find a like-minded compatriot with a show to listen to on BFF.fm to in 2023.
As always, of course, thank you for your support.
BFF.fm has only been able to thrive and grow out of the awful ordeal of the pandemic with your help. Going into '23 we have a renewed radio schedule bursting with amazing original shows to listen to, our roster of podcasts goes from strength to strength, we'll have more great local music writing here on the BFF.fm blog, and as we approach the incredible milestone of our tenth birthday, we'll be delighted to have you alongside us again for whatever surprises and delights are in store.
Thanks to you, our DJs, podcasters, bloggers and volunteers for everything in 2022. Here's now to BFF.fm's decade year. 🥂
