After five long years, Tyler Holmes returns to our ears and our hearts. The experimental artist finds authenticity in synthetic sounds, vulnerability in distortion, and, eventually, peace in noise. Their new album, Patience, was just announced today and a brand new single premiered on BFF.fm’s House of Love. Our very own DJ Mr. White shares:
“COPY is awesome, the eerie and haunting melodies make it feel like a complete vision in just 2.5 minutes. The entire album is great and can hold its own against any experimental album in the genre…A solid A!”
The meditative track that hides a secret urgency, COPY lies at the heart of Patience, offering a brief moment of serenity amongst Holmes’ glitchy, agonizing sonic experiments that abstract heartbreak and hope into pure emotion.
Graceful melodies soar into metallic brutality, acoustic arrangements drift into distorted soundscapes. An album built on five years of uprooting themselves, devastating loss, and deep heartbreak, Patience is Tyler returning to us, and themselves. A sonic canvas that showcases their journey while also giving us space to explore our own place in this unforgiving world.
Listen to COPY on today’s House of Love. Patience will be released on September 26th via Ratskin Records.
