BFF.fm – Best Frequencies Forever is a San Francisco-based community radio station run by a volunteer staff of music nerds who love independent music and are hell-bent on delivering awesome radio programming.
Our mission is to support emerging and underground artists and bring the Bay Area music scene to the world through the magic of Internet radio.
Awards? Sure- we were named "SF's Best New Radio Station" by The Bold Italic, "Best New
Internet Radio Station" by SF Weekly, voted "Best Radio Station" in
San Francisco THRICE in SF Weekly's annual Reader's Poll (2014, 2015, and 2016), and we were given a nod in the San Francisco Bay Guardian's 2014 "Best of the Bay" issue.
BFF.fm started in September 2013, in the tiniest office inside The Secret Alley, an artist workshop that provides local San Francisco artists a place to collaborate, palaver, scheme and dream. In 2015, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, we began building (possibly the first) fully functional radio production studio inside a fictitious environment- creating a faux private investigator's office with a cool film noir theme that will fit right in with the other magical spaces inside The Secret Alley.
Sound amazing, right? Maybe you should join us! We’re always on the look out for talented deejays, venue partners, collaborators and co-conspirators– anyone who loves radio and has big dreams and bright ideas. We also welcome music submissions from local and underground artists.
Best Frequencies, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 non-profit community radio station. Your tax-deductible donations to help keep us on the air and involved in the music community. The money we raise (in addition to paying our rent, streaming services, and broadcast equipment maintenance expenses) supports the San Francisco music scene by enabling us to pay the bands that play our showcases and sponsor events that help keep the local music community vibrant.
By the way, all of our station imaging, including our incredible show flyers, is done by super talented illustrator/designer Allison Gore. The BFF.fm logo was designed by Allison Gore with help from graphic designer and typographer Garret Voorhees.
BFF.fm is on the look out for music lovers with experience in finance, fundraising, event planning, or networking to serve on our Board of Directors. Help cement BFF.fm's place in the San Francisco music scene through sustainable growth!
