Every Body - Director Julie Cohen, Producer Tommy Nguyen and Participant River Gallo

Welcome to the SF Frameline Film Festival! Every Body is an important and beautiful documentary that focuses on three intersex people's lives as they process the traumas of their past, find community, thrive in their personal lives, and become leaders in the movement for a greater understanding of the intersex community and an end to unnecessary surgeries.

Director Julie Cohen and  producer Tommy Nguyen share how the intersex movement has been a long time coming, the horrendous stranger than fiction story and archival footage that provided the catalyst for them to tell this story, and why they think we are moving in the right direction.

Participant and intersex activist River Gallo shares their experience growing up as intersex, how they manage to find grace in dealing with the misunderstandings of their parents, the inspirational feeling of the crowd at the film's premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and what makes the closing credits of the film so special.

Every Body is in theaters on now
