EP058: This is the World We Wanted

At the center of the Milky Way lies a supermassive black hole called Sagittarius A*. Located approximately 26,000 light-years away from Earth, it exerts an immense gravitational pull, equivalent to the mass of millions of suns. This black hole has a diameter of about 22 million kilometers and is surrounded by a swirling disk of hot gas and dust. Sagittarius A* plays a vital role in shaping the galactic structure, influencing the motion of stars and gas clouds in its vicinity. While its direct observation is challenging due to the obscuring effects of interstellar dust, scientists have been able to study its effects indirectly and gather valuable insights into the nature of black holes and the evolution of galaxies. Now, let’s traverse a black hole of music.
