Victims of Violence & Those That Speak Up with Baqvas

Continuously sad.

Honoring victims of violence like Pakistani's famous qawwali singer Amjad Sabri who was gunned down during Ramadan by the Taliban, Iraqi rapper and dancer Adel Euro who died in one of the most devastating suicide bombings in Iraq as of late during Ramadan, and those that speak up like Field Medic and his track about gentrification in the Mission, Deqn Sue who wrote a catchy song about her old roommate being racist towards her, Blood Orange who wrote beautifully catchy tracks and made sure listeners didn't forget that BLACK LIVES MATTER, and Arca who dropped the mix Entrañas with a track on it noting the "degradation" of being a woman.

The Flood of Iraq (lyric translation)

The water has entered the houses. Bring someone to our streets. All of Baghdad has drowned.

There is no solution until we own the circumstances.

This is the most beautiful city with the most beautiful waterfalls and beautiful floods. Every time it rains it increases the floods. Bring on the rain to this city! But no one can reach us, they think they can rule above us.

What is triumph? I don’t want its headache. My house has drowned.

There was a time when we were the best people of the world and now in this time it’s a flood in every place in your neighborhood, in your house, or in the area of your neighbor

We drowned. We’re done for. Where can we go? There is no solution and we didn’t do anything. What’s more beautiful than this flood? In your house you have drowned.
